Fiancee Steals From Charity That Honors His Memory

They were to get married.

He,  a U.S. marshal, was gunned down in the line of duty with two other marshals.

She helps set up a golf outing that is to benefit the U.S. Marshals Survivors Benefit Fund and BackStoppers Inc. - charities that offer financial support to families of marshals, police, firefighters, paramedics and emergency medical technicians killed on the job.

She heads the collection of funds for the yearly charity golf tournament, with registration fees sent to her home.

She transfers funds from the charity event into her personal account and uses the money for purchases at women’s clothing stores, among other things.

She is accused of stealing thousands of dollars in donations from the John Perry Golf Benefit Tournament in Fairview Heights, just east of St. Louis. (source)
