Regulators and Congress, But Not Charity Leaders, Say That They Will Address The Charity Fraud Issue

The Washington Post investigation into charity fraud has seen the circling of the wagons from those that have not done what they were entrusted to do. The Post has followed up and identified the magnitude of the problem and suggested that something has to be done...first and foremost the protection of all charity assets. 

For the first time (not withstanding the half decade Nonprofit Imperative has been tooting the problem), there is real insight into the extent of the losses and the nature of the problems. Regulators in seven states and the District said The Post’s disclosures will prompt them to undertake their own scrutiny. Congress also plans a review. The lack of interest from charity leadership is astounding. 


Nonprofit Imperative gathers its information principally from public documents...some of which are directly quoted.
