A Solana Beach woman faces charges that she used her management company to embezzle about $900,000 from a Simi Valley homeowners association, authorities said.
Kristin Davis, 44, owned and ran Paradigm Management Group, which managed the Big Sky Homeowners Association in 2008 and 2009, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said.
Soon after the thefts were uncovered in 2009, Davis shut down Paradigm. She later opened a similar company, MK Management.
Ventura County prosecutors have filed 12 felony counts against Davis, including grant theft and insurance fraud.
Paradigm’s one-time chief financial officer, Melissa Hoff, faces charges of grand theft and conspiracy, according to authorities.
Both women were jailed last week in lieu of $500,000 bail, authorities said. Both have since been released on bail, online records show.
Other homeowners associations, in Ventura and Orange counties, have also reported suspected embezzlement by Paradigm. Detectives are investigating, the department said. (source)
